On 22 February, following a performance of the opera Das Rheingold at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre Valery Gergiev will be holding an autograph session. The public will have a unique opportunity to get the maestro’s autograph on the Mariinsky label’s most recent release – a recording of Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre
Respected French publications Diapason and Télérama shower praise on a recording of Die Walküre
Norman Lebrecht has stated that the Mariinsky label’s recording “is as gripping as any Wagner recording of recent times.”
On 18 February Anna Markarova will be appearing as Cio-Cio-San in Giacomo Puccini’s opera Madama Butterfly for the first time (production by Mariusz Treliński)
From 14–16 February the Mariinsky Opera will be presenting two gala concerts and a performance of Massenet’s Don Quichotte under Valery Gergiev at the XXXI International Chaliapin Opera Festival
On 15 and 17 February the Mariinsky Theatre will be performing operas at the historic Bolshoi Theatre
