Amin Ghafari was born in Tehran. He graduated from the University of Tehran and finished his postgraduate studies there. Improved his skills under the guidance of Professor Igor Petrushevski. Has attended masterclasses held by Bijan Khadem-Missagh and Boris Kuschnir.
He received 1st prizes at Tehran’s National Festival of Youth Music and Fajr International Music Festival and subsequently, in 2022, at the OSAKA International Music Competition (Japan).
Amin Ghafari is one of the prominent Iranian violinists of his generation. Television performances of concerti by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky, as well as works by Ysaÿe, Franck, Bach and Saint-Saëns, earned him fame in his homeland.
Member of Iran’s National Orchestra and the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. Has been conducting the University of Applied Science and Technology Art & Culture Unit 48’s Orchestra (Tehran). He founded the Persian Gulf Orchestra in 2019.
Performed at the Allegro Vivo Kammermusik Festival (Horn, Austria, 2016) and Kronberg Academy (Germany, 2017). Played with the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra in Dubai, with the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra (Baku) in Tehran, and with the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice in Prague’s Smetana Hall. Appeared at the International Music Festival in Český Krumlov (Czech Republic) with Prague’s Suk Chamber Orchestra.
Has been conducting concert tours and masterclasses throughout his homeland since 2017. Actively popularising modern Iranian music, he performed premieres of many significant works.
Amin Ghafari released five singles – Spring Waltz, Passenger, Vivaldi’s Summer, Paganini’s Caprice No. 16, Ysaÿe’s Sonata No. 3 (Ballade) – and Bach’s Partita for solo violin No. 2.
In 2017 he has published the book titled The Best Ways to Practice Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto.
