Set and Costume Designer
Paul Edwards is Australian and studied stage design at the Royal
Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London where he graduated with
honours, and he is now an associate member. Paul has designed
extensively for theatre and musical around the world. His recent opera
credits include L´Incoronazione di Poppea, Die Fledermaus at the Royal Academy of Music, London; Lucia di Lammermoor (Opernhaus Halle), Cherubin (Teatro Lirico di Cagliary), Eva and Jacobin (Wexford Festival Opera), Orfeo ed Euridice (Teatro Calderon de la Barca, Opera National du Rhin and New Israel Opera), The Bartered Bride and Die Zauberflöte (New Israel Opera), L´Italiana in Algieri and Il mondo della Luna (Garsington Opera), Le nozze di Figaro (Opera Ireland), La Finta Semplice (Nice and Opera Comic, Paris), Il matrimonio segreto (Opera Comic, Paris), The Mikado (Cardiff), Carmen (Richmond Theatre).
He is presently designing a production of Othello for the Welsh National Opera. His last production in Russia was the The Pearl Fishers for Kazan Opera and Den Haag Opera.
He would like to dedicate his work for Tosca to the memory of his father.
