To conclude 2013, which saw celebrations marking two centuries since the birth of Verdi, the Mariinsky Theatre will be presenting premieres of his operas Otello (22 and 29 December) and Il trovatore (27 and 31 December) as well as its current repertoire of Verdi’s operas with top soloists from the company and guest artists in the lead roles
On 13 December there will be an awards ceremony for one hundred and thirty-three participants of the St Petersburg project Valery Gergiev’s Arts Centres for Russia’s Young Talents
On 28 October at the Concert Hall there will be a performance featuring soloist Olga Borodina under the baton of Tugan Sokhiev with the Mariinsky Orchestra instead of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse
On 14 and 19 October mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk will be performing at the Concert Hall and the Mariinsky-II as part of the project Artist of the Month
