Evelina Agabalaeva was born in Leningrad. In 2013 she graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Vladimir Vaneyev). At the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatory the artist performed the roles of Olga (Eugene Onegin) and Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro).

Since 2013 Evelina Agabalaeva has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. She made her Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2014, taking part in a concert marking 175 years since the birth of Musorgsky, and in 2015 she appeared in a Mariinsky Theatre production for the first time, portraying Sister Dolcina in Suor Angelica.

Evelina regularly appears in chamber music concerts by the Academy of Young Opera Singers (including a concert at London’s Goldsmiths’ Hall in 2017) and in productions for children: Scenes from the Life of Nikolenka Irteniev (the Mother), Adalmina’s Pearl (White Fairy) and The Boy Giant (Echidna (Madame Viper)).

In 2014 she sang as Romeo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Kazakh Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay (production by Alexei Stepanyuk).

In 2016 together with other members of the academy she appeared in Esa-Pekka Salonen’s concert cycle Stravinsky: Myths & Rituals at London’s Royal Festival Hall (the Mother in Mavra). Same year the artist performed the role of Olga (Eugene Onegin) at Prague’s Rudolfinum.

In 2019 she sang the part of Girl Storyteller in the world premiere of Grayr Khanedanian’s opera Alexander Nevsky at the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, St Petersburg.

Has appeared at a festival in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Has sung at the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theatre, performing the role of Olga in Eugene Onegin.
