| | | Mikhail Kaniskin was born in Moscow, Russia. He began his training at the Bolshoi Ballet School. He continued his training at the John Cranko School of Stuttgart Ballet in Germany. In 1996, Mr. Kaniskin was invited to participate at Prix de Lausanne, where he reached the semi-final round with favorable reviews. Shortly afterwards, he was invited to join the Stuttgart Ballet. In 2001, he was promoted to Demi-Soloist. In 2002, he became a Soloist, and was promoted to Principal Dancer at the beginning of the 2004 season. Mr. Kaniskin has performed most of the repertoire of the Stuttgart Ballet, both in Germany and abroad. Mr. Kaniskin has toured in the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Italy and Korea. In 2007, Mr. Kaniskin joined the Berlin State Opera Ballet as a Principal Dancer. |
