Born in Arzamas. Graduated from the Samara State Institute of Arts and from the Moscow State Conservatoire in 2001 (faculty of opera and symphony conducting, class of Professor Vasily Sinaisky).
Has worked with the Ministry of Defence Orchestra, the Yaroslavl Symphony Orchestra and the Cheboksary Opera and Ballet Theatre. From 2003 to 2005 Svetlana Filippovich was a conductor of the Rostov-on-Don Music Theatre, where she was Musical Director of a production of Offenbach's Orphé aux enfers.
Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in 2007; she has conducted such productions as Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Giselle, Raymonda, The Fountain of Bakhchisarai, The Magic Nut and Glass Heart.
Has appeared with the Mariinsky Theatre on tour to Europe. In 2010 she made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala where she conducted the ballet Don Quixote. Svetlana Filippovich’s work was highly praised by the theatre’s board, the critics and the Italian public.
