About the performers

The Music Hall Theatre Orchestra Northern Sinfonia was created in 2016 by Fabio Mastrangelo. The same year the orchestra took part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Lenfilm film studio as well as in the Elena International Art Festival, the St Petersburg International All Together Opera Festival and the St Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

The orchestra has collaborated with the pianists Ekaterina Mechetina, Christina Harnish, Polina Osetinskaya and Giuseppe Albanese, the violinist Sergey Girshenko, the saxophonist Ola Asdal Rokkones and the clarinetist Giampiero Sobrino, soloists of the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky Theaters and the International Elena Obraztsova Music Academy.

The orchestra’s repertoire includes works by Russian and foreign composers, as well as contemporary music. The orchestra performed the St Petersburg premiere of Martin Romberg's The Tale of Taliesin and Toru Takemitsu’s Vers, L'arc-en-ciel, Palma for guitar, oboe d'amur and orchestra.
