About the performers

Alexander Bolotin was born in St Petersburg in 2000. In 2008 he began to study the piano and since 2012 has studied at the Middle Special School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Alexander Sandler).

Has appeared at various concert halls in St Petersburg and Moscow. Has won numerous prizes at international music competitions, and in 2012 he was awarded the St Petersburg City Government Young Talents prize. In 2013 he gave a recital in Burgos (Spain). Has toured to Estonia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovakia, Finland, Israel, USA, Poland and France.

Has taken part in the festivals New Year Divertissement of Young Musicians of St Petersburg, the Mariinsky International Piano Festival and World of Children in St Petersburg, the Chopin Festival in Nohant (France), the international festivals Flowers of Russia in Finland, Austria, Italy, Slovakia and Belarus, the Children's St Petersburg festival in Tel Aviv (Israel), the David Oistrakh Festival in Estonia, the International Piano Music Festival in Tallinn (Estonia) and the Summit Music Festival in New York (USA). Since 2010 he has regularly appeared at the International Music Festival in Burgos and the International Music Academy in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (Italy).

In 2016 he took 1st prizes at the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia (Poland), the Music Competition of the International Music Academy of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and the Moscow International Frédéric Chopin Young Pianists' Competition.
