About the performers

Nuron Mukumi (piano)
Nuron Mukumi was born in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and at the age of six received his first music lessons from Tamara Popovich at the Uspensky Republican Specialised Lyceum of Music. At the age of seven he won 1st prize at the International Russian Piano Music Competition in San Jose (California) and 1st prize at the Youth National Piano Competition of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. At the age of seven he began to study conducting under Vladimir Neymer, making his debut one year later with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan as a pianist and conductor when he performed Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor.
At the age of nine he won the Special Prize at the Città di Cantù International Piano Competition and, as a prize-winner at the competition, appeared at the Sala Verdi in Milan with the Romanian National Symphony Orchestra.
From 2007–2010 he trained at the Purcell School for Young Musicians in London. During his studies he appeared at St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Millenium Centre and Steinway Hall. In 2007 he was a prize-winner at the International Mozart Young Pianists' Competition in Rome (1st prize) and received the opportunity to perform with the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra at the Vladimir Spivakov International Festival. Between 2008 and 2009 he took 1st prizes at the International Piano Festival in Fribourg and the North London Festival for Music and Performing Arts and 2nd prize at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar. From 2010–2015 he was a student at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt am Main (class of Lev Natochenny). Currently studies at the faculty of music of the Kalaidos Musikhochschule in Switzerland (class of Lev Natochenny) and the Musik-Akademie Basel.
Recent engagements include appearances at the Salle Cortot in Paris, Frankfurt's Alte Oper, the International Summer Festival in Weilburg and the Klavier Festival Ruhr.
