On 6 June at 21:30 as part of the Stars of the White Nights festival the Mariinsky Theatre will be presenting the world’s first ever 3D performance of a ballet at cinemas throughout the world. Audiences will have the opportunity to see Swan Lake in over one thousand two hundred cinemas in fifty countries across the globe
The first premiere at the new stage of the Mariinsky Theatre (Mariinsky-II) – the ballet Le Sacre du printemps to music by Igor Stravinsky in a production by cult contemporary choreographer Sasha Waltz on 13, 14 and 15 May
The Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre is presenting a new series of the Contemporary Piano Faces international festival from 14 to 21 April – there will be concerts together with the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev as well as recital programmes by unique musicians from various generations and different schools.
A new production of Gaetano Donizetti’s melodramma giocoso L’elisir d’amore is being rehearsed at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre. The first performances will take place on 28 and 29 March and 10 and 28 April. This will be the ninth production of L’elisir d’amore by the Kirov-Mariinsky Theatre and the first at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre
