The Mariinsky Theatre is launching a collaboration with the Okko multimedia service

Continuing its development of internet broadcasts, the Mariinsky Theatre is launching a collaboration with the Okko multimedia service and is offering audiences the unique opportunity to see the finest productions performed by the Mariinsky Theatre's greatest soloists while not leaving their homes. The broadcasts on the platform Art Online are open to all who open a free subscription to the Okko online cinema.

The new platform Art Online, launched on 20 March by Sberbank and the Okko multimedia service is a free mediatheque for the most varied audiences: adults and children, lovers of the classics and rock, as well as drama and popular music.

The project Art Online opens with two performances by the Mariinsky Theatre – ballets by Alexei Ratmansky which will form an online continuation of the Mariinsky ballet festival. On 20 March there will be a broadcast of a recording of the ballet Cinderella by Sergei Prokofiev, the lead roles danced by Diana Vishneva (Cinderella), Vladimir Shklyarov (the Prince) and Ekaterina Kondaurova (the Stepmother). On 21 March audiences will have the opportunity to see Ulyana Lopatkina once more in the title role of Rodion Shchedrin's Anna Karenina. The ballerina was partnered by Andrei Yermakov (Count Vronsky) and Viktor Baranov (Alexei Karenin). The Mariinsky Orchestra was conducted by Valery Gergiev for both recordings.

The broadcasts of these performances may also be seen on mariinsky.tv. The broadcasts begin at 18.00 Moscow Time (GMT+3).
