Valery Gergiev will have four concerts with the Munich Philharmonic from 10 April to 14 April. The ensemble will appear at the Philharmonie im Gasteig on 10 April, 11 April, and 13 April, and on 14 April – at the closing of the 23rd Heidelberger Frühling, which runs from 16 March to 14 April at the Culture and Congress Centre Frauenbad Heidelberg.
The programme includes one of Anton Bruckner’s biggest works (Symphony No. 5) and Gustav Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder featuring a solo from the renowned German opera singer Anja Harteros (soprano).
Valery Gergiev’s contract with the Munich Philharmonic has been extended through 2025. Maestro Gergiev has been Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the German orchestra since the 2015/2016 season.
