Valery Gergiev to Appear with the Munich Philarmonic in Munich

The orchestra will perform at the Philharmonie im Gasteig (Munich) from 17 January to 20 January. Russian music will be performed at the three scheduled soirée concerts: Igor Stravinsky’s Chant funèbre, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s suite from The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya, and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 4. Moreover, an open-to-all public rehearsal of the orchestra will take place at 10:00 on 17 January.

On 21 January and 22 January, Valery Gergiev and the Munich Philharmonic will appear in Hamburg. The programme of the first soirée performance at the Elbphilharmonie will coincide with the programme of the Munich concerts. However, the second soirée concert’s programme includes Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and Das Lied von der Erde (‘The Song of the Earth’).

Valery Gergiev’s next tour with the Munich Philarmonic is scheduled to take place in February.
