On 30 December at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre the final concerts of the XII International Piano Festival will take place, having seen over thirty concert programmes at Mariinsky Theatre venues in St Petersburg and Vladikavkaz

On 21 November at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing (China), the Mariinsky Theatre's major tour of countries in the Asia-Pacific region began with a performance of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet The Sleeping Beauty; there will also be performances in major cities in China, Japan and South Korea as well as concerts at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok. The tour concludes on 13 December in Seoul

Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra and Opera soloists have been nominated for a Grammy award in the category "Best Opera Recording" for their performance of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Golden Cockerel

On 19 November (12.00 and 15.00) at theProkofiev Hall (Mariinsky II) there will be a premiere of Sergei Banevich's opera Murych the Cat

From 18 to 25 November Valery Gergiev and the Münchner Philharmoniker will be appearing at major classical music venues in China
