From 2 to 8 October the Mariinsky Ballet will be performing at the Ravenna Music Festival
The new season at the Mariinsky Theatre: for the first time at seven venues at the Mariinsky Theatre, the Mariinsky-II and the Concert Hall there will be around one hundred performances and concerts each month. There will be cultural and educational programmes for children and young people on an unprecedented scale, as well as major Russian tours.
On 26 September the Mariinsky Theatre opens once more. The ballet season commences with Swan Lake at the historic theatre. The first opera on the playbill will be Il trovatore, to be conducted at the new theatre the same evening by maestro Valery Gergiev
On 23 September 2014 following the tremendous success of the July online broadcast of the Mariinsky Theatre’s ballet La Bayadère to cinemas in Europe, Cineworld will be broadcasting a recording of the ballet to cinemas in the United Kingdom
