Ellinor d’Melon


Violin

Ellinor was born in Kingston (Jamaica) in 2000. At the age of four she began to take violin lessons from teacher Fay Robotham and later from Professor Steven Woodham. In May 2005 Ellinor gave her first performance, accompanied at the piano by her mother.

In 2008 she was invited to audition for the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music in London and was accepted. Ever since the academic year 2010-2011 she has been studying at the Reina Sofía School of Music with Professor Zakhar Bron.

Ellinor d’Melon has participated in over fifty concerts and recitals in countries including Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Russia.

Ellinor enjoys the Tuition Scholarship CLH and a Residence Scholarship from the Albeniz Foundation. Since 2012she has played the “Yuri Pochekin” violin, provided by Professor Zakhar Bron.

She has successfully participated in several international competitions for young musicians. Her latest achievement was 1st prize at the International Competition for Young Violinists in Honour of Karol Lipinski and Henryk Wieniawski in Lublin (Poland) in 2012.
