Andrei Korobeinikov was born in 1986. He started to play the piano at the age of 5 and at the age of 7 he won the 1st prize at the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition for young musicians (Khimki and Klin, Russia). At the age of 19 Andrei Korobeinikov graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatoire where he studied with Andrei Diev, and afterwards he did a postgraduate course at the same conservatoire with the same professor, and studied with Vanessa Latarche at the Royal College of Music (London). At the same time, Andrei Korobeinikov got a degree in law. In 2003, he graduated from the Law European University of Moscow; in 2004–2007, he completed his postgraduate course at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (civil law department).
By the age of 20 he had won more than 20 prizes in different national and international competitions in Russia, USA, Italy, Portugal, UK, Netherlands including the 1st prize at the Scriabin International Piano Competition in Moscow (2004) and the 2nd prize and the Audience prize at the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition in Los Angeles (2005), Special prize of the Moscow Conservatoire and the diploma for best performance of music by Tchaikovsky at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow (2007).
Andrei Korobeinikov has performed concerts in more than 40 countries of the world and has cooperated with many musicians including Iván Fischer, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Leonard Slatkin, Alexander Vedernikov, Okko Kamu, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Antoni Wit, Gintaras Rinkevicius, Alain Altinoglu, Maxim Shostakovich, Alexander Rudin, Mikhail Pletnev, Vakhtang Jordania, Dmitri Liss, Vadim Repin, Dmitri Makhtin, Alexander Kniazev, Johannes Moser and Henri Demarquette. He has appeared with the Borodin Quartet, Philharmonia Orchestra (London), Orchestre National de France, NHK Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo), NDR Symphonieorchester, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia (Poland), State Svetlanov Academic Symphony Orchestra, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (Moscow), Russian National Orchestra, National Philharmonic of Russia, Moscow Symphony Orchestra and many other Russian and European orchestras.
Korobeinikov’s performances have been broadcast by Arte, Mezzo, Kultura, France Musique, BBC 3, NDR-Kultur and other TV channels and radio stations in Russia, USA, France, UK, Switzerland, Uruguay and Croatia. The pianist’s CDs comprising works by Alexander Scriabin (Mirare, 2008) and Dmitri Shostakovich (Mirare, 2012) have been given the most prestigious awards of French musical critics, Diapason d'or, Diapason decouverte and Choc.
His engagements for the current season include recitals in Novorossiysk, Zagreb, Tokyo, St Petersburg, Moscow, Amiens and Lille, performances with Johannes Moser in Norfolk, Troy (USA) and Calgary (Canada) and with Vadim Repin in Łańcut (Poland).
