Sokolova Anastasia

Sokolova Anastasia began to study the piano at the age of six under Marina Polozova, Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. She is currently a ninth-year student at the Middle Specialised School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Alexander Sandler).

Recipient of 1st prizes at numerous international competitions, among them the St Petersburg Young Pianists’ Open Competition (2006), the Miniature in Russian Music Arthur Rubinstein International Competition (2010) and the VII International Baltic Sea Nations Young Pianists’ Competition Dedicated to the Works of Frédéric Chopin (Estonia, 2008) at which she also received a special prize from the European Union of Youth Music Competitions (EMYC). In 2011 she took 1st prize and the audience award at the international Bang & Olufsen PianoRAMA-Competition in Denmark.

Frequently takes part in concerts at the most prestigious venues in St Petersburg. at the Great Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonic she has performed Mozart’s Concerto in C Major K. 246 and Concerto in A Major K. 414 as well as Haydn’s Concerto in D Major. Since 2010 she has been giving recitals in Germany, Italy and Denmark.
