Graduated from the Irkutsk College of Music (class of Mikhail Lapis) and the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Alexander Shilo). In 2004 he won grants from the Irkutsk Mayor’s Office and the New Names international charitable foundation. On several occasions he has won Irkutsk Region gubernatorial grants. In 2005 he was named a grant-recipient of the Young Talents of Russia foundation.
He is currently an assistant-trainee at the St Petersburg Conservatoire.
From 2011-2013 he performed with the orchestra of the Mikhailovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre in St Petersburg. Since 2011 he has been involved in projects run by the St Petersburg House of Music. Since 2013 he has been a member of the double bass section of the Mariinsky Orchestra. Frequently performs in recitals, appearing at the Small Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonic, the St Petersburg Academic Cappella, the Prokofiev Hall of the Mariinsky-II, the Veliky Novgorod Philharmonic, the Irkutsk Philharmonic and the Yekaterinburg Philharmonic. Collaborates with conductors including Yevgeny Volynsky, Alexander Titov, Viktor Sobolev, Tatiana Akimova and Nimrod David Pfeffer. Has taken part in master-classes conducted by acclaimed double bass players. As a soloist he has appeared with the Gubernatorial Symphony Orchestra of the Irkutsk Region, the Amadeus and Cantarella chamber orchestras, the orchestra of the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov College, the Chamber Orchestra of the St Petersburg Conservatoire, the St Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the St Petersburg Academic Cappella.
In 2010 he performed the premiere of Mikhail Lapis’ Concerto for Double Bass and Chamber Orchestra at the Double Bass Planet festival in St Petersburg. This concerto was written specially for Yevgeny Ryzhkov and is dedicated to him. In 2015 he performed at the Musical Olympus music festival.
