Ivan Karizna

Ivan Karizna began to study music at the age of five and, at the age of eight, he gave his first public performance. In 2008 he won 2nd prize and the Silver Medal at the VCIS Nations’ Youth Delphi Games. He has appeared at various venues throughout Russia, Belgium, Great Britain, France, the USA and the Netherlands, among them the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Salle Pleyel and the Cite de la musique in Paris and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. He has taken part in such international festivals as Musica Mundi (Belgium), Moscow Welcomes Friends (Russia) and the Yuri Bashmet International Festival (Belarus). Has appeared with the Moscow Virtuosi ensemble, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg Philharmonic and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia.

In 2010 he represented Belarus in  the finals of the Eurovision‑2010 International Young Classical Musicians’ Competition. In 2011 he became a prizewinner at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition (3rd prize). Since 2009 he has been a student at the Conservatoire national de Paris.
