Wang Yi is a national first-class Beijing opera singer and a Beijing Opera Theater artist. Starting to learn Beijing Opera at a very young age, she studied with many masters, including Hua Shixiang, Yan Shishan, Li Jinhong, Jiang Fengshan, Li Yufu, Wu Suqiu, Liu Xiurong, Yu Yuheng, Yang Qiuling, Yan Guixiang, Mei Baojiu and Xie Ruiqing. She participated in the China Young Peking Opera Performing Actors Seminars and the China Peking Opera Art Festival, got the 1 st prize at the CCTV Middle Youth TV Competition and received the Henan Beijing Opera Silver Award.
