Kseniya Rappoport


Kseniya Rappoport was born in Leningrad. Graduated from the St Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Arts (today the Russian State Institute of Stage Arts) and from the workshop of Veniamin Filshtinsky. Actress of the Maly Drama Theatre – Theatre of Europe. Her repertoire includes roles in Lev Dodin's production of Uncle Vanya (Elena Andreyeva), Intrigue and Love (Lady Milford), The Cherry Orchard (Ranevskaya), The Three Sisters (Masha) and Hamlet (Gertrude).

Has appeared in numerous Russian and international films and TV series, among them La sconosciuta (Italy), Yuri's Day (Russia), Liquidation (Russia), La doppia ora (Italy) and Two Days (Russia) among others.

People's Artist of Russia. Recipient of numerous prizes and awards at Russian and international film festivals including the Venice Film Festival, the Locarno International Film Festival, Kinotavr and Golden Eagle. Recipient of the national film prize of Italy David di Donatello, the Stanislavsky and Strzhelchik Theatre Prizes and the Golden Sofit theatre prize. Cavalier of the order of the Stella d'Italia for her contribution to the development of relations between Italy and Russia.

Directs the Advisory Board of the charitable foundation Butterfly Children.
