Anna Reinhold


Mezzo-soprano

Anna Reinhold, mezzo-soprano, studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris where she discovers baroque repertoire with Kenneth Weiss. She then attended the Vienna University, where she studies with Claudia Visca and Walter Moore in their Lied class.
Her stage debuts included Purcell’s Dido in Montpellier, Te Wife in Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen and Mozart’s Cherubino in Liège and Reims Opera Houses. She also sang Te Prince in Massenet’s Cendrillon in Nice.
In 2011, she was selected to be part of Le Jardin des Voix (Les Arts Florissants), conducted by William Christie and Paul Agnew. After that, William Christie chose her to sing Melpomиne and Cybèle (the leading role) in Lully’s Atys, with tours in Paris, Caen, Bordeaux, Versailles and New York.
Anna recently recorded the mezzosoprano part in Bach’s Mass on B with Ensemble Pygmalion conducted by Raphaël Pichon, which was rewarded with a «Diapason d'Or» In 2012, she is reinvited by Les Arts Florissants, this time conducted by the promising Jonathan Cohen, and sings Proserpina (Charpentier : La descente d’Orphée aux Enfers) and Blow’s Venus and Adonis, touring Paris and Warsaw.
Recently, she interpreted the role of Diane in Rameau’s Hippolyte and Aricie conducted by Raphaлl Pichon on Festival Baroque de Beaune.
Her other roles include Lisette (Haydn: Il mondo della luna) in Téêtre Moufetard, Haendel’s Messiah in Opéra de massy conducted by Dominique Rouits. As a contemporary singer, she performed the opera Phèdre-tragédie lyrique, singing the leading role created especially for her by french composer Emmanuel Normand.
She was aclaimed by the audience and critics during the major role of her career, singing Cybèle : «Mezzo-soprano Anna Reinhold, by turns seductive and violent, makes Cybele the true centerpiece of the opera. Her haunting fnal aria of grief shows her a solitary fgure left to reflect on the destruction her passion has caused».
Her future engagements include Cavalli’s Elena at Festival d’Aix en Provence conducted by Leonardo Garcia-Alarcon, Sorceress in Dido & Enea conducted by William Christie, and a recital accompanied by les Arts Florissants. One of her many next recordings include a chamber music project with William Christie.
