Lighting designer David Martin Jacques makes his Mariinsky Theatre debut with the 2007 production of Tosca. He has collaborated with director Paul Curran on numerous projects including the critically acclaimed productions of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk with The Canadian Opera Company, Tannhäuser with Teatro alla Scala, Daphne with Teatro la Fenice, I lombardi with Teatro Maggio Fiorentino, Cherubin with Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, The Rehearsal/Shostakovich´s Symphony No. 13 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and The Tales of Hoffman and A Midsummer Night´s Dream with Central City Opera. David Jacques has designed over 300 theatre, opera, television, dance and special event productions. His designs for television have been broadcast on NBC, A&E, and PBS. He also served as lighting consultant for Walt Disney Creative Entertainment and designed numerous projects for Epcot Center, MGM, and Euro-Disney. In addition, he has designed architectural lighting projects throughout the United States, Europe, and South America.
David Jacques serves as Head of Stage Design for California State University Long Beach.
