Veronika Part

Born in Leningrad.
Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 1996 (class of Inna Zubkovskaya) and joined the Mariinsky Ballet. Soloist from 1998-2002. Her repertoire included lead roles in the ballets Giselle (Myrtha), La Bayadère (Nikia), Swan Lake (Odette-Odile), The Sleeping Beauty (Lilac Fairy), Raymonda (Raymonda, Henrietta), Le Corsaire (Medora), Don Quixote (Queen of the Dryads), George Balanchine’s Serenade, Apollo (Terpsichore), Symphony in C (Second Movement) and Jewels (Emeralds, Diamonds), John Neumeier’s Sounds of Empty Pages and Alexei Ratmansky’s Le Poème de l’extase and Cinderella (Female Dance).

Joined American Ballet Theatre in 2002; Principal Dancer since 2009. Repertoire includes lead roles in 19th century classical ballets as well as ballets by George Balanchine, Antony Tudor, Frederick Ashton, José Limón, Alexei Ratmansky, Kevin McKenzie, Jerome Robbins, Martha Clarke, Peter Quanz and Twyla Tharp.
Veronika Part was the first performer of the role of Natalia in Alexei Ratmansky’s ballet On the Dnieper and lead roles in Alexei Ratmansky’s Dumbarton, Twyla Tharp’s Bach Partita, Susan Jaffe’s Blue Pas de Deux, Marcelo Gomes’ Triptych and Peter Quanz’ Kaleidoscope among other productions.
Veronika Part has taken part in projects run by the Kennedy Center and the Metropolitan Opera and worked with Suzanne Farrell and Judith Jamison.
