Chase Finlay

Chase Finlay was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, and began his dance training at the age of eight at Ballet Academy East. In 2007 he went on to study at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet. In September 2009 Chase Finlay joined the New York City Ballet and was promoted to the rank of soloist in July 2011.

Chase Finlay has been a recipient of the Clive Barnes Award for dance in 2010.

Repertoire includes:
George Balanchine’s Apollo, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet (First Movement), Divertimento No 15, Duo Concertant, The Nutcracker (Cavalier, Hot Chocolate), Liebeslieder Walzer, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lysander) and Symphony in C (First Movement), Ulysses Dove’s Red Angels,
Sean Lavery’s Romeo and Juliet,
Peter Martins’ Fearful Symmetries, The Sleeping Beauty (Gold) and Swan Lake (Pas de quatre),
Jerome Robbins’ 2 & 3 Part Inventions, Glass Pieces, Interplay and West Side Story Suite,
and Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia.
Chase Finlay originated a feature role in Peter Martins’ ballet Mirage.

He has also taken part in premieres of the following ballets:
The Lady with the Little Dog; Alexei Miroshnichenko,
Namouna, a Grand Divertissement; choreography by Alexei Ratmansky,
The Seven Deadly Sins; choreography by Lynne Taylor-Corbett
and Estancia; choreography by Christopher Wheeldon.
