Fabio Luisi

Fabio Luisi has been Principal Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker Orchestra since 2005 and Musical Director of the Pacific Ocean Music Festival in Sapporo (Japan) since 2010. Last season he was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Metropolitan Opera. In the 2012–2013 season Luisi will be appearing as Musical Director of the Zurich Opera. Fabio Luisi collaborates with orchestras and opera companies throughout the world. He has performed with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Philharmonia orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo), the Munich Philharmoniker Orchester, the orchestra of the Accademia Santa Cecilia (Rome) and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He also regularly conducts at the Wiener Staatsoper, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Deutsche Oper and the Berliner Staatsoper. Fabio Luisi recently made his debuts at the Teatro alla Scala (Manon) and the Opera di Roma (Elektra).
