Nikita Shcheglov


• Awarded a diploma at the VIII International Ballet Competition (Moscow, 1997)

Born in Leningrad (St Petersburg). Graduated with honours from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in 1991 (class of Professor Semenov) and joined the Mariinsky ballet company. Performed in the ballets La Sylphide (James), Giselle (Classical Duet), La Bayadère (Solor, Golden Idol);

The Sleeping Beauty (the Blue Bird), Swan Lake (Pas de trois); Le Corsaire (Conrad, Lankedem), Don Quixote (Basil); Schéhérazade (Zobeida’s Slave); The Legend of Love (Ferkhad).

In 2000-2002, he was a lead soloist with the Colorado Ballet Company and Cincinnati Ballet Company.

Since 2012 he has been a teacher and coach with the Mariinsky Ballet, rehearsing roles with Xander Parish and Ramanbek Beishenaliev.
