Yekaterina Sergeyeva was born in St Petersburg. She graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2005 (сlass of Yevgenia Gorokhovskaya).
Soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers since 2004.

Her concert repertoire includes a part of alto in the Mass in B minor and St Matthew Passion by Bach, in the Ninth Symphony by Beethoven and in the Eighth Symphony by Mahler as well as From Jewish Folk Poetry, a song cycle by Shostakovich.
She participated in the world premiere of A Christmas Tale by Rodion Shchedrin at the Mariinsky.
Ekaterina Sergeeva performed Olga in the productions of Eugene Onegin at the Mikhailovsky Theatre (directed by Vasily Barkhatov), Bayerische Staatsoper (directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski), Deutsche Oper Berlin (directed by Friedrich Goetz), and at Glyndebourne Festival (directed by Graham Vick).
As a guest soloist the singer performs at the Bolshoi Theatre. She has participated in the production of L'enfant et les sortilèges by Ravel, and this season she also appears as Laura in The Stone Guest by Dargomyzhsky.
In 2016, at Leonid Desyatnikov’s music festival in Moscow, Ekaterina Sergeeva performed a solo part in The Rite of Winter 1949. She also participated in the production of the opera The Gambler on the stage of the Monte Carlo Opera.
With the Mariinsky Theatre, the singer has toured in Germany, Japan and the USA.
