About the performers

Alexander Denisov (piano)
Alexander Denisov was born in St Petersburg in 2003. He began to study music at the age of five, and since 2010 he has studied at the Middle Special School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire.
Has appeared on numerous occasions at the Great and Small Halls of the St Petersburg Philharmonic and the St Petersburg Conservatoire. Took part in a concert for guests of the G-20 summit in St Petersburg and the festival December Evenings at the Russian Museum.
Prize-winner at the international competition Piano Talents in Milan (1st prize, 2013), the international competition Young Talents with Orchestra in Barcelona (1st prize and Audience Award, 2014) and the International César Franck Competition (1st prize, 2014).
As a winner at the competition Young Talents with Orchestra he performed the first movement of Bach’s Concerto in D Minor at the Conservatorio di Milano, while in 2015 he performed the entire concerto at the Smolny Cathedral in St Petersburg and the Bacău Philharmonic (Romania).
In 2015 he took part in the festival Moscow Greets Its Friends, featured in the work of the Children’s Academy of Music of the CIS and Baltic States supported by Yuri Bashmet, appeared at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and undertook a tour of Switzerland.

Jie Chen I (piano)
Jie Chen I was born in St Petersburg in 1999. At the age of six she started to study the piano. From 2009–2014 she was a pupil at the City Lyakhovitskaya Children’s School of Music. Prize-winner at International Frédéric Chopin Youth Competitions in St Petersburg (1st prize, 2010) and Narva (1st prize, 2012).
In 2013 she won the prize Young Talents from the St Petersburg City Government and the prize Young Talents of Russia from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
In 2014 she won 1st prize at the VII Open Young Pianists’ Competition. On several occasions she has performed at the Small and Great Halls of the St Petersburg Philharmonic. In 2014 she joined the Middle Special School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Lyubov Rudova).
