Alexander Nikitin

His one-size bell-like voice and his Herculean temperament will be remembered for a long time to come… In Nikitin there was something of natural Russian daring, as with natural born singers, and you believe his Gryaznoi without even looking – this would be believed by Lyubasha, Marfa end even – just think about it – Rimsky-Korsakov. Russian opera is something on an epic scale, though – unfortunately – singers capable of performing it properly are rare indeed.
