Seyoung Park


Soprano

Seyoung Park was born in Jeonju. She received her Bachelor’s degree at the Kongju National University and her Master’s degree at the Seoul Sangsin University with Kyung-Hwa Cho. Since 2012 she has continued her education with Enrico Facini at the Berliner Universität der Künste. Recently Seyong Park has performed in Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Verdi’s Requiem and Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah in Berlin. She has also sung at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Musikverein in Vienna.

Seyoung Park has won a large number of national competitions in South Korea. In 2012 she received a scholarship from the LYRA Foundation – Bank Vontobel in Zurich. Her international awards include the Hilde Zadek Prize at the Hilde Zadek International Competition (Vienna, 2013) and 1st prizes at the La Città Sonora International Competition (Milan, 2013), the Magda Olivero International Competition (Milan, 2013) and the Ravello International Competition (Italy, 2013).

In January 2014 she became a winner at the Francisco Vinãs International Singing Competition in Barcelona where she received 1st prize and the Special Prize for the best interpretation of Verdi and the Extraordinary Prize of the Festival Castell de Peralada.
