Lia Shevtsova was born in Leningrad. Graduated from the St Petersburg
State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 1994. Made her Mariinsky Theatre
in 1993 as the First Lady (Die Zauberflöte). Joined the Mariinsky Opera Company the same year.
