Conductor
Graduated from the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire as a
chorus master (1985) and as an opera and symphony conductor (1991). Has worked with numerous orchestras in Russia and abroad
including the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestras
of Rochester, Mexico and Seoul, the Symphony Orchestras of Shanghai
(China), San Jose, the Kennedy Center, Kansai (Japan), the Teatro Regio
Symphony (Turin), the Teatro Real (Madrid), the Ankara Opera House
(Turkey), the Frankfurter Museumsorchester (Germany) and the State
Orchestra of Lithuania. Musical Director of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet since 1990.
At the Mariinsky Theatre his repertoire includes a large number of ballets.
Has appeared as a guest conductor at the Royal Opera House, Covent
Garden (London), the National Opera of Finland (Helsinki), the Royal
Swedish Opera (Stockholm) and the Bavarian National Opera (Munich). Guest Conductor with the Lithuanian National Opera since 2005.
