Thierry Leproust


Set Designer

Thierry Leproust is a painter and set designer and he also works in cinema. In 1980 he met the director Roger Planchon. Together they have worked on productions including Ionesco, Alice, ou Par d'obscures chemins, Où boivent les vaches, Le Triomphe de l’amour, Le&nbsolRadeau de la Méduse, The Demons, L’Avare and films (Georges Dandin). Leproust has also designed productions by such directors as Marie Hermès, Simone Amouyal and Jacques Rosner. Since he has worked with director Michel Deville (the films Le  ;Paltoquet, La  ;Lectrice, Nuit d'été en ville, Toutes Peines Confondues, Aux Petits bonheurs, La Divine Poursuite and Un fil à la patte). In cinema he has also collaborated with Roger Coggio (Le nozze di Figaro), Marion Hansel (Sur la terre comme au ciel, Li, The Quarryand Noir Ocean) and Eric Heumann (Les Amants du Nil). Since 1989 he has designed sets for Preljocaj’s ballets, among them Amer America, La Peau du monde, Le Parc, The Firebird, L’Anoure, Casanova, Le Sacre du printemps, Médée and Blanche Neige; he has designed productions for choreographers including Nadine Hernu, Bianca Li and Norma Claire and opera productions by Christian Gagneron at theatres in Cannes, Innsbruck, Nancy, Monte Carlo and Venice and Simone Amouyal’s production of Farewell at the Opéra Comique.
